Nigerian Army-led Task Force Demolishing Peoples’ Property In Abuja Brutalises SaharaReporters Journalist‬

A journalist with SaharaReporters (name withheld) has been attacked by a Nigerian Army-led joint task force on illegal demolition of structures in‬ Nyanya Market in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
SaharaReporters gathered that the overzealous security operatives also destroyed the Hausa service journalist’s phone.

“I was doing my report but they suddenly attacked me, collected my phone and broke it after deleting the live video I earlier did,” he said.
SaharaReporters learnt that the market had existed for years until the security operatives and FCT officials moved in to demolish it.
Some of the affected traders said, goods worth millions of naira were destroyed during the demolition.
